FLOATING (OUTREACH) SUPPORT

GCS Provides Floating/Outreach support services to people with various needs. To lead a full and independent life, some people may only require support for a few hours a day or a week, depending on their needs. We provide a flexible support service based around your particular needs for a set period of time. We can help you with things such as your housing, money, health and getting involved with your local community with the aim of fixing any problems and achieving results.

Our Floating/Outreach Support services provide people with flexible packages of support. How you choose to use your support is up to you – our support staff will assist you to achieve your personal goals and aspirations.

Our service can be provided in a variety of supported living arrangements, including: individual homes, shared supported houses and extra care services and within the community.

Flexibility and choice

Whether you need only a few hours each week, or an intensive period to work towards your specific objective, our experienced staff will support you to achieve your goals. We are able to support you in many areas, helping you to lead a full and varied life, including:

  • Developing domestic and life skills (house-keeping, shopping, cooking, cleaning, personal care etc.);
  • Taking medication;
  • Managing your money, including paying bills;
  • Getting out and about in your community;
  • Support to attend college, work placements and other activities;
  • Accompaniment to appointments;
  • Socialising and meeting new people;
  • Help accessing other services;
  • Travel training;
  • Keeping safe and healthy; and
  • Filling out forms; and much more.

However, it is important to remember that this is not a complete list and there will be people needing support who do not fit neatly into these groups. We are able to support and encourage you in many areas, helping you to lead a full and varied life.

We focus on getting to know people – how they want to be supported, what they want to achieve in life and what is important to them – to offer support that is as individual as they are. To achieve this, we use a number of specialist person-centred support planning approaches, such as One Page-Profiles and Person-Centred Reviews.
